INTRODUCTION TO THE WAR GRAVES

Clearly we could not add all of the information about our War Graves onto a leaflet so if you would like to know more, you will find information about all of the graves below.

The  Holy Ghost Cemetery Basingstoke contains the graves of 21 servicemen who died during the First World War [1914 to 1918] and one from the Second World War [1939 -1945].

The graves are 16 Army, 3 Air Force, 1 Navy and a member of the French Red Cross Society who was born in Basingstoke.

There are plots of graves of 4 Canadians, one Belgian and 17 British servicemen.

With the exception of the John Aidan Liddell memorial and the family grave of John James, all of the Commonwealth graves in the South View Cemetery are maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

For more information about each of the Commonwealth War Graves please click on the link below for a downloadable PDF format guide.
